In this ground floor refurbishment project, the structural engineering design involved several key elements, particularly focusing on ensuring stability and load distribution while also accommodating the architectural requirements for large openings, such as the top-hung sliding door. The main refurbishment typically involved altering or enhancing the existing structure, such as internal layouts, removing walls, or changing the loading conditions. The rear extension introduced additional structural load and the foundation and supporting elements where enhanced to accommodate this and the Foundation Design was carried out after assessing the soil conditions
