This project features a reinforced concrete frame system, strategically designed adjacent to a heritage-listed structure. Our approach utilised a contiguous bored pile wall as the foundation solution. This design not only provides essential lateral support as a basement retaining wall but also ensures safe and efficient excavation during the construction phase. The superstructure minimises the number of internal columns, employing large-span beams that enhance open space and flexibility within the building. By effectively transferring significant column loads to a comprehensive system of piled foundations, we achieved optimal stability and load distribution. Our engineering solutions prioritise both structural integrity and the preservation of the heritage context, demonstrating a commitment to quality and sustainability in modern construction practices.
