swan hotel

Updated: Oct 20

This challenging structural engineering project involved the meticulous restoration of a historic 15th-century hotel, which suffered significant fire damage. Collaborating closely with English Heritage and the Local Conservation Office, our team implemented advanced restoration techniques to preserve the building's unique architectural integrity.

During the restoration process, we made remarkable discoveries, unearthing stunning murals and artwork concealed beneath later wood panelling. This discovery not only highlighted the hotel’s rich history but also informed our approach to preserving its structural elements.

Utilising specialised resin injection techniques, we reinforced critical structural members, ensuring the building's safety and longevity while maintaining its historical character. Our commitment to heritage preservation and innovative engineering solutions showcases our expertise in restoring and revitalising historic properties.
