We undertook an extensive refurbishment of a 1970s residential complex originally built for a major oil company. The project involved modernising five three storey blocks with a unique construction mix of loadbearing brickwork, blockwork, and cast in-situ reinforced concrete slabs. Key upgrades included the complete replacement of windows, the creation of large corner openings, and the addition of new balconies. Innovative cantilever frames were designed to support the floor slabs and external loadbearing skin, while also restoring the lateral stability of the blocks. Internal steel frames were meticulously engineered to provide support to the intermediate sections of the building, ensuring a blend of modern functionality and structural integrity. Our expert solutions enhanced the architectural aesthetics while ensuring the safety and stability of the residential units.
