This neglected art deco house on a private estate was transformed with new outbuildings, a basement, and a tunnel linking the main house to the outbuilding. The refurbishment balanced historical integrity with modern amenities, using reinforced concrete and steel for stability, and advanced waterproofing for the tunnel. Load-bearing walls were removed to open up spaces, supported by hidden beams and columns. Modern insulation improved energy efficiency, while high-quality finishes and bespoke joinery honoured the original style, blending historical charm with contemporary comfort.
